WW1, RAE SE5a fighter
Colour scheme based on aircraft from “C” Flight 25th Aero Sqdn, US Air Service, Langley Field, circa 1920.
The model is ¼ scale, built from a DB sport & scale kit.
Wingspan 80”(2032 mm): weight approx 7.2kg.
Engine MVVS 1.6cu Petrol, with electronic ignition.
Radio JR PCM. Flies well.
Owner pilot Cliff Keen
Just starting take off run for the next sortie.
Nice in flight shot diving in from the sun for a dog fight.

Lower three photos, the top wing mounted Lewis gun not fitted as these were the first test flights and a mistake on landing can result in the model turning over on its back, the Lewis gun is the first thing to hit the ground with obvious results.
Because there has been no gun fitted the landings so far have all been perfect!!.
