The Midlands Large Model Flying Group

Catton Park LMA show. 16/17-8-03
Produced and Directed by TMLMFG
The lead up to the show was dry and the weather forecast for the show was good . Wind direction was variable but the pilots coped with no real problems.
The only one bad crash over the weekend was a turbo prop model which had a flame out in a difficult position and did not have chance to bring it round and land on the strip.
The show ran smoothly with continuous flying and a chuck glider comp at 2pm for the kids, which went down well both days.
There were all types of aircraft from WW1, WW2, jets, turbo props, pre and post war civil, pattern ships. Also at least two single engine multi cylinder powered aircraft.
Thanks to our partners who were working not only on the entrance gate, but in the very welcome refreshments tent on the flight line and helping before and after the show , and for being there to support us the rest of the year. Thanks to Martin who organised the traders side of the show.
Thanks to Paul and Ian who burnt the midnight oil sorting out and running the slotting to give smooth and continuous flying.
Last but not least, thanks to Pete Siggins - Show Director and our Chairman - for all the hard work put in pre show and during, to make the whole thing work.
Every one asked said what a good show it was, both pilots and members of the public alike. Thanks for the show must go to all members of the MLMFG plus a few from local clubs who were involved setting up and and working in various capacities, and clearing up after the show.
